Open Graph
Open Graph is a metadata protocol created by Facebook that uses meta property="og:..." tags to control how web pages appear when shared on social platforms and messaging apps.
In detail
The core Open Graph tags — og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url — are read by social platforms, messaging apps, and increasingly by AI crawlers as supplementary page metadata. AI systems may use og:description as a fallback when the meta description is missing. A complete Open Graph setup improves both social sharing previews and AI readiness.
