What we collect

When you scan a URL, we store the domain, target query, site type, and the generated report in our database. We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identifying information unless you choose to provide it via the feedback form.

How we use it

Scan data is used to generate your report and improve the tool. We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising. Scan results are stored to enable the report permalink feature.

Cookies and local storage

CiteScan uses browser localStorage to restore your last scan result on page reload and to store any feedback you submit. No tracking cookies are used.

Third-party services

We use Supabase for database storage and Google Gemini AI for report generation. URLs you scan are sent to the Gemini API for analysis. We use Vercel for hosting. None of these services receive personal data beyond the URL being scanned.

Data retention

Scan records are retained indefinitely to support report permalinks. You can request deletion of any scan by emailing minarulh34@gmail.com with the report URL.
