OAI-SearchBot is OpenAI's real-time web crawler that powers the web search feature inside ChatGPT. It fetches live pages to build answers for ChatGPT users who search the web.
In detail
Unlike GPTBot (which collects training data), OAI-SearchBot retrieves pages in real time when ChatGPT users perform a web search. Sites that block OAI-SearchBot cannot appear in ChatGPT Search results. Sites that allow it may be fetched and cited as a source in ChatGPT answers. Both crawlers should be allowed for full ChatGPT visibility.
